A Bit Of A New Year’s Miracle

My GBGV Life A Bit Of A New Year's MiracleWe had a bit of a New Year’s Miracle at midnight on New Year’s Eve when it was fireworks time. You see, Nelson rarely even wakes up, Olivia doesn’t care much or she may just cozy up more to Mom and keep sleeping. Me, Bailie, what about me? I am terrified. It started when I was around three out of nowhere. I start panting, jump in and out of bed, leave the room, come back, Mom cranks up the TV, I’ve tried CBD, sleeping pills, nothing helps me out.

Why do people have to do this? Mom dreads New Year’s Eve and the 4th of July because I am impossible to deal with and she feels so bad for me. At our house we are in bed at the usual time. Mom had things all set to spring into action when I started panicking at the fireworks. At midnight we woke up to fireworks, Mom grabbed the remote, cranked up the TV and then noticed I was simply lying there, no shaking, no drooling, no panic, almost dozing off to sleep. She turned the TV volume down to a reasonable level and I was still fine.

The fireworks went on for about twenty minutes, then we all went back to sleep. Mom could not believe I wasn’t bothered at all. We do have an idiot who loves noise that lives behind us and he is out of town. His fireworks shake our house and even Mom is almost scared. It is disgusting and so unnecessary, but he loves noise, even his vehicles are loud. Nevertheless, if it was a fluke, so be it, but if I am not stressed about fireworks, it sure would be nice.
